IVSA THESSALONIKI HISTORY
Greece has been an active member of the organization since 1992, represented by IVSA Hellas. IVSA Thessaloniki began its activities in 2009 and is an active member to this day. It is based at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and aims to promote the goals of the organization both nationally and internationally.
In line with this mentality, the actions organized by IVSA Thessaloniki include:
- Individual exchange programs, providing Greek Veterinary Medicine students with the opportunity to actively engage in the veterinary profession abroad
- Organization and coordination of entertainment programs and events for students (e.g. excursions, parties, film screenings, etc.)
- Scientific events, such as conferences and workshops, on interesting topics in the veterinary field
- Annual organization of the Panhellenic Veterinary Students' Conference (PSVS), in collaboration with IVSA Thessaly, in which each student can participate by presenting a scientific paper of a veterinary nature to his fellow students
- Group student exchanges with IVSA members from other countries, with the aim of meeting Veterinary students from abroad, visiting other Veterinary Schools, getting in touch with the culture and civilization of each country and of course, exchanging ideas and creating unforgettable experiences with colleagues from all over the world.
- Participation in local and international Veterinary Conferences and Symposia
- Publication of information brochures and magazines (e.g. Adespotos) for Veterinary students
- Informing and raising public awareness on interesting veterinary issues (e.g. through street actions, briefings in schools, open days)
